Granular Activated Carbons

Granular activate carbon is obtained by activating the charcoal obtained from coconut shell. It is an excellent adsorbent and is very effective in color removal. Other ares of utilization are for removal of odour from the water and improving the taste of water. Due to high rates and lesser availabilty of coconut shell based activated carbon, mineral based carbon is being used extensively.
